| The MONROES |
|
| The best way to describe the Monroes approach to music is eclectic. Their sound and set lists best resembles a Pulp Fiction soundtrack. From Nancy Sinatra and Chris Issaks to the Pretenders and early Alice Cooper, the band relishes playing material that by and large feels fresh. While many cover bands play the standards the Monroes take a different road, seeking less traveled songs and interpreting them in their own unique stylings. The band leans in the direction of a harder sound with a real percussive edge that underlines Susan’s powerful vocal stylings. Jagged guitar hooks and a powerful bass line, give the band presence. Rounding out the vocals are Rob, Bob and Mike. The result is an evening of original approaches to 70’s tunes that always leaves a crowd wondering why it has been so long since they heard such powerful musical statements. The Monroes have called Toronto home base for the past 3 years, but the members are from all over the States and Canada, from Nova Scotia and Montreal to Toronto and Portland Oregon. The Monroes bring it all together with loads of stage experience and the poise and showmanship that always makes for a great show….. |

Sonny has been rockin’ out his brand of music for almost 50 years!! His 4th CD
“Welcome To Saxland” has them moving the dining room table and dancing up a storm! And his new band is playing to sold out venues everywhere!
3 time winner of The Real Blues Magazine’s “Best Blues Sax Player in Canada Award” and “2005 Special Instrumentalist of the Year” in The Hamilton Music Awards. Everyone agrees Del-Rio sounds better than ever!
Sonny was born Dennis Grasley in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1943. He started playing tenor saxophone in a rock & roll band in 1957, and he just keeps going and going and going.
For many years Sonny toured with Richard Newell a.k.a. King Biscuit Boy and Kelly Jay in a version of Crowbar (Oh What a Feeling, What a Rush), during which time he recorded 2 albums with his life-long friend “don’t call me Biscuit” Newell. Sonny and Richard continued to work side by side until King Biscuit Boy’s death in 2003. Earlier in that year they released a CD together titled “Two Hound Blues”. Sadly it was Richard’s last recording. |

Sarah sings of both beauty and struggle and hopes to touch others' hearts along her own personal journey.

weddings, and the summer concert series for Hamilton's Music in the

Joel, Norah Jones, to Classic pop/jazz standards. Her vocal range can

| Flash Johnson |
|
Hamilton, Ontario based rock combo Flash Johnson are an incrediblytight, energetic 3-piece cover band that never ceases to get the masseson their collective feet when they start to blast. For the past 4 years, Flash Johnson has been blowing the doors off every club they have been booked into. They play a fantastically coolmixture of more recent alternative covers along with choice classics by such diverse artists as Badfinger, the Beatles, Black Sabbath, and
those are just the ones starting with B. Everything is delivered in a fun and upbeat fashion. With a revolving repertoire of over 250 songs, things never get tired even on week-long bookings. One of the keys to the success of this fine group is spot-on harmony vocals courtesy of brother’s Paul Mallard (Guitars, Vocals) and Jeff Mallard (Drums, Vocals). In addition, both brothers are ridiculously proficient on their respective instruments. In fact, Jeff has been
playing professionally since leaving diapers. Rounding things out, Mark Costa “The future of 5 strings” is gaining quite a reputation for his relentless, punishing bass assaults. In addition, his session work with hard-rockers “Tailgunner” is well documented. The Mallard brothers and
Costa met and formed Flash Johnson while attending the prestigious Lou Diamond Phillips School of Acting in the summer of 2001. After ditching their studies and spending countless hours in the ol’ quarry mining up their favorite rock hits, the trio won rave reviews at their early gigs and never looked back.

| Vili
V |
|
Sometimes
you hear a voice and you just know: this guy is good.
So it is with Vili V. He's young, he's talented and
his style is timeless. At 25, Vili has been singing
professionally for 10 years. He has performed extensively
in Canada, the United States, and Europe. But you
can't measure a singer's success by where he or she
has performed. It has always been about the ability
to capture an audience's imagination. Vili's trump
card is his voice. His deep baritone and clear tenor
drape like velvet over his songs. He shifts easily
among pop-rock, jazz, gospel and country genres. The
unifying factor, though, is the soul he infuses into
each performance. "His type of music is timeless,"
says producer and engineer Paul Riemens, "I don't
think it can ever be out of style." Vili's influences
are apparent: He draws on Frank Sinatra's precision,
Tom Jones's passion, Roy Orbison's power and Elvis's
showmanship. "There are influences from other singers,
but you can't say that's all he can do or that's all
he's about," says Riemens. "His voice is unique. I
can't compare him to anyone else."

variety of popular music ranging from classic rock,
folk rock, blues, contemporary, and country. In 1990
he established a solo guitar and vocal entertainment
act. Since then he has performed live music professionally
in numerous venues across the province of Ontario,
and the United states.
By implementing the use of a midi sequencer, he's
achieved an effective full sound production that will

| Evan Champagne |
|
Described by many as a musician, but most accurately as an artist, Evan Champagne has been bringing his unique sound to the masses for over 3 years, having performed over 500 shows. With his guitar as his faithful companion Evan performs a solo acoustic act all across Ontario. While technically he is a one-man band, Evan's mastery of the guitar combined with his innate artistic abilities come together to create something captivating, putting him on par with full-piece bands. Originally from London, Evan now calls Brantford his home & is passionate about promoting the wealth of artistictalent within the Brantford community. Completely self-taught, Evan began playing the acoustic guitar at the age of 15 and shortly after started writing his own songs. Although he considers progressive rock and various underground bands to have had an influence on his music, Evan has always strived to create a completely
original sound, which is why he never took lessons. He explains "I never tried to be like anyone or mimic anyone. There's lots of music out there that all sounds the same and I just wanted my music to be my own." In Evan's words, his music can best be described as "modern acoustic folk
rock, but I play a wide variety including blues and rock. It's mainly acoustic music that's very expressive, music that my audience can relate to."

| Daryl
Gray |
|
|
Born
in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Daryl tasted the wanderer's
life at an early age, traveling Europe and North
America with his parents before settling back in
Ireland. Growing up to music as diverse as The Beatles
and Stones to Slade and Led Zeppelin, Daryl's first
paying job as a musician was at the age of fifteen
and was a solo acoustic performance opening for
a local band for which he received the equivalent
of $5.00 and was slipped a pint of Guinness under
the table.
After
immigrating to Canada he became very active in the
Niagara music scene, fronting the popular 80's rock
band Tracy Kane. 1982 saw the release of their self-titled
album on the H&S Records label, which was also
home to another Canadian indie band, Helix. |
| After
many tours of Canada and the USA, Daryl departed Kane
in 1983 to start the short lived but critically acclaimed
Nightline before being approached by Helix management
in early 1984 to audition for the vacant bass position.
After joining, Daryl went on to tour the world with
such bands as Heart, The Scorpions, Kiss, Quiet Riot,
Motley Crue, Night Ranger and a long list of others.
Along
the way Daryl has attained 4 Gold, 2 Platinum and
1 Double Platinum albums, 2 Juno nominations, the
1990 Much Music Video Award for the best Rock Video,
and has had Top 40 hits with numerous writing and
production credits.
After
departing Helix in 2002 Daryl continues to tour
and record with own band Scurvy Dogz. He is also
much sought after as a session musician, recording
and performing with such local hero's as Ray Lyell
and The Rick Rose Band and GM Paterson and Overdrive.
Over the past several years Daryl has garnered a
strong following as a solo performer and has returned
to his acoustic roots, bringing a seasoned and experienced
ease to his performances. Drawing from a wide variety
of musical styles and influences, (including his
Celtic heritage) which showcase his vocal and instrumental
talents; Daryl leaves his audiences wanting more. |
| Mono
Tone |
|
A
solo acoustic show
with attitude!
You take the lead singer/guitar player from the band
Tone Deaf, give him a microphone, an acoustic guitar
and a harmonica or five, and you have Mono Tone. Cleaver
name, eh? So, let's just assume for the sake of argument
this guy, Mark, has a clue and can sing and play guitar.
Fairly safe bet there. So, what sets him apart from
everyone else? To start with, he will play almost
anything on an acoustic guitar. I mean, from Van Morrison
to Van Halen, nothing is sacred. Add to that a large
repertoire of songs, an "If I can hum it, I can
play it" attitude, and a sense of humour to boot,
you get Mono Tone.
Mark
has been performing since he was thirteen, acoustically
and in bands. He is considerably older than that
now, by the way. One of his favourite types of venues
has always been the campfire at the cottage routine.
This is what he likes to bring to the every venue
he plays... a "pull up a picnic table and join
in' kind of vibe! An audience is all the accompaniment
he needs
no request is off limits
the
human jukebox
just don't ask where to put the
quarters!
From
patios to large parties, Mono Tone can rise to any
occasion. Pull up a pint and join in!

|
| Tone
Deaf |
|
| Ok,
let's be completely honest here...these guys have
no freaken idea what the hell they are doing. They're
just four beer guzzling part time musicians that were
looking for a way to cover their bar tab. They started
playing '70s rock because that's what they know, and
presto, you have a classic rock band. Talent, no...good
looks, mmm, not so much...partiers, oh yeah! Whatever
works I guess.
"Never
mind your daughters, hide your beer!"
Fortunately for them there are enough of you out
there that love a good party and are lushes to boot.
(Do not attempt to see a Tone Deaf show sober...just
trust me on this one. -Ed.) Regarding the music,
the theory is they "...play the songs the way
the artist meant to record them." Of course
they do! Whatever they want to believe...whatever
makes your bunny jump!

Strongly influenced by her father’s involvement in choirs and musical theatre, Jennifer began singing at an early age. After performing along side her father in a production of Brigadoon at the age of four, Jennifer was eager to seek vocal instruction and join a choir at the earliest opportunity. Jennifer has received vocal instruction beginning at the age of seven through to the age of 19. During this time Jennifer has traveled to music festivals in Ottawa, Banff, and Chicago, singing in choirs. She has also participated in productions of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown and Godspell. One year ago Jennifer began to pursue music on a more serious
and professional level and has been singing with Radio Flyer in the Casino circuit since 2006.
John has been playing guitar since the age of twelve, from there he progressed to small bands at a young age often playing with musicians much older than he was, this helped him develope at an accelerated rate. He later went on to open and operate a recording and production studio, working with the likes of Alanis Morissette, Matt Dusk, Saga, Spookey Ruben and members of Frozen Ghost, Brighton Rock and Talas.
John later focused his efforts to television and landed a production/co-writing position for the first season of a new cartoon called "Sons of Butcher" ( currently in it's second season), and continues to record and produce various local Ontario artists .
John is proficient on a wide range of instruments such as drums, bass, and keyboards however, specializes in guitar and lead vocals. In 1995 he joined the trend of playing in accoustic trios and duos eventually leading him to form a more sophisticated sound for his current duo Radio Flyer. By adding self produced bed tracks to his live guitar playing, a more full and rich sound was created, comparable to a five piece band.
Together Jennifer and John deliver a very diverse list of material ranging from early rock and roll to classic rock to motown to new country and current hits of today. Performing mostly at Casinos in Ontario ( as a regular Duo at the Fallsview Casino in Naigara Falls since July 2004) and many other Casinos through the Province and various Pubs, Restaurants and Corporate shows, even Weddings. Radio Flyer has fun on stage often including the audience which makes for a memerable experience.

I started playing drums at 9 years old , I was doing professional gigs at 16 and was on the road full time by 19. The road is pretty much where I was until I was 31. During this time period, I played with the bands Aeternum, Escape, The Grind, The Drive, Cedar Springs, Machine Head, Cracked Diamond, Point Of Entry, and finally The Randy Moisan Band.
At 31, I was ready for a change, and since I was already an established Bass player, I made the move to Lead Vocals and Bass full time fronting a band called Sequel. After that, I played Bass and did back up vocals with bands like The Legends of Rock, Bennie & the Jets, and finally with The Frank Cosentino Band. I did all the Bass tracks on Frank Cosentino’s “Unfinished Business” CD in 2005.
Since then I’ve been performing as a single’s act, singing and playing acoustic guitar and continue to do this in 2007.Also, I am the full time Bass player with the band Them Damned Johnsons and I still do gigs on Bass or Drums with Bennie and the Jets. |
| The Phil & John Show |
|
PHIL NARO has been on the music scene since the early '80's. He has
played with & collaborated with some of rock's elite. BILLY SHEEHAN &
PETER CRISS are just the short list.
Phil's distinct vocal style & stage presence have earned him a
reputation as a world class front-man. Not to mention his songwriting
ability which can go from ballad to hard rock anthem, can stand up
against anyone out there past or present. Phil is definitely one of
rock's premier singer/songwriters currently active in the business
today.
The Phil & John Show
This is an inspired & passionate duo, truly a ompliment of North
American talent from the United States and Canada in the Phil & John

Thanks for taking the time to read the blog on the
band. Well sort of the band. Cause it's pretty much
me, my guitar and the coolest sounding back up players
and singers that you have ever heard!
I
have done it all as a solo. I have been that acoustic
guy on the stool playing folky, camp fire tunes
that no one really remembers all the words to. I
have also succumbed to doing a version of the original
song accompanied by F.R.E.D. (Friggin Ridiculous
Electronic Drummer). Hey I apologized to all the
real talented peeps out there that can really play
drums.
Next
was Razzbarry Jam. A very kool acoustic duo that
went terribly wrong every night to the delight of
the foolish people willing to be harassed and cajoled
into playing the audience. Fun? You betcha!
The
band on tape version was the next evolution with
computerized instruments playing the original scores
and hoping like hell you though it was the real
deal. Good, but not great ever.
And
now
a fully sequenced show with the real instruments
played by real musicians who don't play music they
feel it. The choir of background singers comes to
life to make each song truly an enjoyable experience.
Couple this with my selection of tunes that are
truly the tapestry of the 60's/70's/ 80's and well,
right up till now with radio hits being added in
regularly, it's a surprising full show with an even
more surprising live sound.

| Duotone |

Bill Culp and Karen Johnson perform as a vocal duo specializing in two-part harmonies and a diverse musical repertoire. Combining their musical talents with dynamic showmanship, the duo seamlessly moves between classic rock, Top 40 pop, country, R&B, and audience favourites taken by request. Whether it’s Bob Seger, Pearl Jam, CCR, The Eagles, Sheryl Crow, Johnny Cash, Alanis Morrisette, Faith Hill, Neil Young, The Beatles or the latest reggae-style hit from Bedouin Soundclash, the duo is sure to have something for everyone.
|
| Chris James |
|
When not fronting the funksonic rock trio SkyStone, Chris James likes to pull the plug and let his voice do the singing, so to speak.
Having had the opportunity to play countless solo acoustic patio shows, James has developed his setlist into a ‘something for everyone’ that is sure to bring the audience together by night’s end.
Versatility being the key, James offers selections from the fifties right on up to the present. In fact, it’s common to hear a Led Zeppelin song followed by a Jack Johnson number, or a classic Beatles song right after a Hoobastank tune. Throw in some Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz, a little Stevie Wonder and some Pearl Jam, and you’re starting to get the idea of what a Chris James acoustic night is all about.
Opting for a more upbeat funk and blues rock approach to his acoustic playing and song selection helps James stand out in the sea of solo acoustic singers. Ever heard Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’ done unplugged?

| Anne Finley |
|
Anne is a terrific singer/songwriter who has had success with two single releases, both of which have placed on the Canadian Country Music charts.
What makes Anne a little (lot!) different from most Female Artists, is that she's a bona-fied Trucker! She hauls freight with her T800 Kenworth down through the U.S on a daily basis, with her guitar in tow.
Her first two single releases, entitled “Playin’ 2nd Fiddle” and "Missing Piece" received positive airplay from stations across Canada. Just recently Anne was featured on the Canadian Trucking News Radio Show as the Driver of the Week. In February 2007 Anne will be in the Canadian Trucking News Magazine feature “Let’s Talk Country”.
Over the past few years Anne has lent her voice to charity compilation Christmas CD’s to raise money for the Salvation Army. Anne and her band Double Clutchn' have appeared at various charity events over the past year, and they are looking forward to 2007.
Anne has one of the best Female voices on the Country Music scene – Canada’s Best Kept Secret! |

Heather
was born in Glace Bay Nova Scotia, one of 5 children,
living in a small east coast town, singing around the
house all day was common place. They often created their
own entertainment of which Heather was front and center,
singing and dancing since the age of 5.
Heather feels right at home in this genre since the
country style has changed to include a more pop-rock
sound with a lot of attitude in the lyrics. Her writing
style lends itself totally to this new country.Heather
released two singles in 94. "Can't Get Any Better",
and "Give Me All Your Love", received airplay on over
40 radio stations. "Can't Get Any Better" was heard
at Skydome while the Blue Jay's were playing, which
led to some International recognition. She performed
at Expo 93 in Taejon South Korea with other Canadian
acts. During this event Heather caught the attention
of the Canadian Ambassador who invited her back to Seoul
several times, to perform at various events including
entertaining the troops stationed there.Heather has
